Responsible for the development, maintenance, and execution of
statistical models in SAS/R or comparable systems, recommending
revisions and improvements to statistical models, conducting and
documenting detailed analysis, and reporting various findings to
management as required for stress testing purposes.
Essential Job Functions
- Design, develop, maintain and evaluate statistical and
predictive models to identify historical trends and forecast future
performance of credit losses (i.e., for Capital Planning and CECL
activities, etc.), pre provision net revenue and other related
measures using SAS and R based upon projections of macroeconomic
variables from the Federal Reserve and internally developed
business assumptions as required by NCUA for capital planning and
stress testing requirements.
- Analyze and document current and future state processes of
stress testing and identify gaps and areas for further
- Develop plans and methods to analyze models, challenge their
assumptions, evaluate performance and robustness effectively, write
comprehensive validation documents, and present findings to senior
- Perform advanced quantitative assessments of all aspects of
stress test models including theoretical aspects, model design and
implementation, data integrity, and reliability.
- Apply maturing knowledge of industry best practices of
statistical models and methodologies. Stay current with emerging
requirements, both regulatory and others, and manage corresponding
changes in models, systems, and processes. Develop and maintain a
strong relationship with business units, consultants and software
- Develop effective management presentation materials based on
findings, including professional display of information.
- Access and compile large amounts of data, and apply advanced
statistical techniques to analyze the data, forecast, interpret,
and quantify trends on various aspects of information. Responsible
for gathering and organizing data, sophisticated analysis, and
development of implications and recommendations.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with various
business units and key functional stakeholders to develop
business-related assumptions based upon different economic
scenarios and to identify new opportunities for statistical
analysis applications to evaluate business performance and to
support business decisions.

assigned training requirements including, but not limited to, BSA
regulations corresponding to their specific job duties. Failure to

Education/Years of Experience/Certifications
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience
Master's Degree preferred
3 - 5 years of previous related experience required
SAS, R, SQL, Microsoft Excel, Python, C/C++, VBA, Microsoft Access,
SunGard Ambit BancWare
Demonstrated experience building predictive models using the
statistical modeling software suites such as SAS and R.
Demonstrated experience utilizing advanced descriptive statistics
and analysis techniques (such as forecasting, analysis of variance,
t-tests, categorical data analysis, nonparametric data analysis,
cluster analysis, factor analysis, and multivariate statistical
analysis), design business experiments, and measure the impact of
Demonstrated experience developing and implementing specific models
in the financial services industry (e.g. CCAR/DFAST stress testing,
CECL forecasting, etc.).
Demonstrated experience communicating business implications of
complex data relationships and results of statistical models to
multiple business units.
Demonstrated experience working with various business units to
scope and design the statistical framework for business experiments
and socialize and help integrate results of analysis of
