Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.Position SummaryThe maintenance specialist will provide additional support to the maintenance and repair function of the Orange County Coordination under the direction and leadership of the Orange County Maintenance Coordinator.Rate Of Pay$18.00/hr. - $20.00/hr.Essential Functions Specific Duties: + At the direction of the supervisor, the maintenance specialist will be asked to support all maintenance, repair and construction work of all Salvation Army property and facilities in Orange County+ Have a working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, air conditioning, painting, welding and general maintenance work.+ Be able to take directions well, work on your own when needed, complete tasks in a timely manner, figure out a parts list and complete projects in a professional way.+ Must be able to use a table saw, chop saw, skill saw, and other wood working equipment in a safe way+ Must be able to climb ladders, walk roofs and preform jobs from scaffolding, when necessary.+ Perform other duties as required and requestedWorking ConditionsAbility to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead. Ability to operate computer, fax and telephone. Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.Minimum Qualifications+ Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, air conditioning, painting and general maintenance work.+ 1-3 years of work experience in the field of maintenance and constructions is desired+ Valid California driver's license, auto insurance and personal transportation (preferred)+ Must be in good physical shape as the job requires lifting and moving of furniture, working in tight spaces and working outside during the different seasons.Skills, Knowledge & Abilities+ Driving Test and clean MVR check (if applicable).+ A criminal background check is required with certification for Protect the Mission policies and procedures.+ Must have ability to work with, direct, and relate well with co-workers, community members, and guests/clients.+ Able to function in a fast-paced, frequently changing environment.+ Must possess good relationship skills.+ Attention to detail, quality and professionalismQualificationsLicenses & CertificationsRequired+ Driver's LicenseExperienceRequired+ Working Knowledge Of Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry, Air Conditioning, Painting And General Maintenance Work.Preferred+ 1-3 year: Minimum Work Experience In The Field Of Maintenance And Construction.Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with DisabilitiesThe contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.
