Job Description:

The Senior Functionality Deployment Technician serves as the Level 3 and 4 functionality and IT expert on the Deployment Project Team center of excellence, working both dayside and overnight shifts. They are responsible for the installation and troubleshooting of all IT and A/V infrastructure, reimaging, and relocation of retail hardware and peripherals. They complete tasks associated with large-scale renovations, vendor supported activities, decommissions, store disaster recovery, special projects, and other company initiatives. This role performs complex, highly advanced repairs that require significant experience, training, tools, and knowledge. While this is not a leadership position, this role will act as a point person on smaller format projects. This work will require full project ownership in partnership with leaders and coaching of other employees. This role adheres to Best Buy Digital & Technology cabling and device standards. They serve as the technical expert for all retail-facing critical system functionality and IT support issues.

Key Responsibilities
Drives a positive customer experience by building relationships and providing solutions to their needs.

Executes complex technology scope including but not limited to installation of horizontal and backbone cabling.

Termination of all cables within the facility infrastructure.

Testing and validation of all installed devices.

Responsible for the adherence to Best Buy Technology Group (BBTG) cabling and device standards.

Perform complex Level 3 and 4 functionality repairs interactive displays within their assigned geographic zone.

Submit, track, and update issue logs to ensure timely resolution on vendor actionable items.

Provides next business day support of IT infrastructure issues on a national level.

Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains low voltage displays, associated systems, and new and existing company electronic systems.

Maintain high level of training and skills to support the technically advanced merchandising projects and functionality within retail and supply chain locations.

Provides day-to-day supervision and work direction to Project Team Deployment Functionality Technicians during projects that involve complex IT scope.

Build crucial relationships with store, district, market, and territory teams.

Provide detailed updates to all involved partners and provides quality feedback to improve existing processes.


Basic Qualifications
2 years of demonstrated capability in low voltage cabling, pathways, fire-stopping, and termination

2 years of experience with basic and advanced troubleshooting and repair of electronic displays and other technical components

Ability to safely use small hand tools, light duty power tools, and other in-house equipment

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Current, valid driver's license

Have and maintain a driving record which meets Best Buy safety standards (e.g. minimal number of violations/accidents, etc.)

Must live within the defined geographical zone location

Able to work dayside, overnight, and weekend shifts when required

Able to lift objects up to 50 pounds

Travel is required; may spend up to 75% of the year traveling
