life insurance, and PTO. We are looking for a Lead MSSQL Database
Administrator to provide maintenance and support for a distributed
database used by Embedded, SaaS, and Mobile applications. Candidate
will be able to capture appropriate metrics, advocate for changes
to hosting platform, collaborate with development on architectural
designs, and publish documentation for our hosting roadmap.Role and
Responsibilities
- Maintain MSSQL distributed database architecture.
- Manage database access, including the creation and deletion of
user accounts and the assignment of privileges.
- Enforce multi-tenant data security by setting up security
objects, including users, schema containers, and RLS
- Perform maintenance tasks including index rebuild, consistency
check, log review, and analysis of historical sys.* metrics.
- Monitor database performance and troubleshoot any issues that
arise.
- Plan for database growth and update database schema as
necessary to accommodate changes to business requirements.
- Maintain and extend database disaster recovery procedures and
infrastructure.
- Maintain and extend database replication, backup, and recovery
procedures.
- Ensure database compliance with internal policies and external
regulations.
- Collaborate with developers, system administrators, and other
stakeholders for database connectivity.

make recommendations for upgrades or changes to the database
management system as needed.

- Work closely with Design, Product Management, Technical
Support, QA, and Engineering to provide high performance database
infrastructure.
- Delight customers by actively managing their issues and
delivering timely fixes.
- Establish and maintain a strong business partnership with
internal users and external customers to fully understand and meet
their technological needs.Qualifications and Education
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience with MSSQL in a lead DBA role
- Experience with NoSQL offline client application deployments
and their integrations with hosted MSSQL
- 5+ years of experience working in Waterfall and Agile
environments.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or
relevant work experience. Preferred Skills
- Demonstrated excellence in the administration and support of
MSSQL in a production setting.
- Familiar with strategies for distributed databases and offline
client-server use cases, including MSSYNC and NoSQL
- Expertise with self-hosted Microsoft Devops hosting
platform.
- Knowledgeable of Azure platform migration ROI strategies for
SaaS infrastructure.
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems, determine appropriate
actions and complete projects with little direction.
- Expertise in planning, executing, and delivering projects on
time and within budget.
- Critical thinking, ability to challenge others and drive
productivity, while maintaining strong business relationships.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the
ability to present and translate complex information to both
contributors and leadership teams in relevant business terms.
- Strong technical and analytical skills.
- Proven ability to function in a self-directed environment.
- Must excel in a fast-paced, agile environment where critical
