START YOUR APPLICATION Job Summary: As a Post-Doctoral Scientist at Zymo Research, you will work to develop world-class Microbiomics technologies and applications from concept to completion. The candidate for this position should have experience in microbiome research and/or microbiology and bioinformatics. You will perform and/or supervise the performance of computational, laboratory, and/or field experimental procedures in support of microbiome and microbiological research and other related duties (e.g. business development, marketing, product development, and networking) as required. As a Post-Doctoral Scientist at Zymo Research you will have an opportunity to lead and/or work with a talented multidisciplinary team of scientists and researchers to develop tools that will affect and shape the biomedical industry. You will have an opportunity to innovate, develop, and deliver Microbiomics technologies from sample collection to analyses. As a Scientist, you will contribute to Zymo's strategic planning and continuously be encouraged to explore new ideas as a part of navigating and innovating in this highly competitive field. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for the planning and execution of experiments and computational analyses to support the MiDOG program focused on microbial genomics.
• Analyze and interpret results, contribute original ideas, and plan future directions for - projects.
• Establish and maintain collaborations with outside scientists and key opinion leaders relevant to - projects.
• Manage and/or play a critical role in all phases of the project from R&D to manufacturing, marketing, commercialization, business development, and networking, where necessary.
• May supervise one or more Research Associates, including training, planning, assigning, and directing their work.
  - Education and Work Experience:
  • Ph.D in Biochemistry, Microbiology, Genetics, Immunology, Virology, Molecular Biology or a related field
  • Understand microbiology, molecular biology, and genomics, including the latest nucleic acid analysis methodologies
  • Proficiency in programming (e.g. R, Python, Linux/UNIX operating systems) for data science (data pre-processing, analyses and visualization)
  • Proficiency in computation methods for NGS data analysis and interpretation (e.g., WGS, read alignment, variant calling)
  • Independent thinking and problem solving
  • Strong attention to details
  • Ability to multitask and work flexibly
  • Strong written and communication skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and as a team

    Compensation: The estimated salary range for this position is $80-95k -per annum at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors.
