American College of Veterinary Dermatology to support the training
of the next generation of dermatologists.Animal Dermatopathology
Services is seeking a Dermatopathology Veterinary Assistant to join
our team. We are looking for someone with the following

Assistant will have a strong knowledge of veterinary or medical
terminology, familiarity with clinical and laboratory work
environments, strong organizational and communication skills,
ability to complete a variety of time-sensitive tasks independently
and a commitment to quality and excellence in service.Primary
Duties:
- Manage requisitions and client/patient information
- Work closely with our veterinary specialists to prepare
histopathology reports
- Coordinate client correspondences and invoicing
- Order additional testing and stains for individual clients as
needed
- Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to
maintaining a system for archiving and retrieval of reports,
specimen/slides and helping to support research study
requestsEducation: High school graduate or GED. Bachelor's degree
or related veterinary or medical credential preferred, such as
Registered Veterinary Technician.Experience: At least three years
of work experience as a veterinary technician or pathology
laboratory assistant or similar veterinary/health care setting
strongly preferred.Knowledge/Skills: In-depth knowledge of medical
terminology, general office experience, proficiency with practice
management software, MS Office, voice recognition software and
transcription applications. Highly effective communication skills
including excellent application of grammar, punctuation, and
English usage are essential. Experience with veterinary laboratory
requestions or pathology reporting systems is desirable.This
position requires a mature individual who projects a professional,
business-like appearance. Adaptable to a rapidly changing
environment and able to work collaboratively and professionally
with multiple departments. Works cooperatively with peers in shared
work environment and receives constructive feedback well. Able to
execute operating protocols consistently and with precision, as
well as efficiently provide timely updates and recommendations on
process improvements. Requires sound judgment and decision-making
