Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.The Salvation Army Orange Countys Anti-Trafficking Services provides human trafficking survivors in Orange County holistic care through trauma-informed, culturally-and linguistically-sensitive, strengths-based, and survivor-centered case management and advocacy. Position Summary The Residential Support Advocate (RSA) provides assistance and support to clients of Thatianas Home while coordinating the daily livelihood and functions of the house. RSAs will monitor the activity of residents on an assigned shift ensuring safety, security and compliance to house rules; maintains accurate and complete records and logs containing pertinent information; ensures that the house is maintained in a neat and proper order; ensures compliance of the treatment plan and teaching skills are adhered to. Essential Functions This position description should not be interpreted as all inclusive. It is intended to identify the major responsibilities and requirements of this position. The incumbents may be requested to perform job-related responsibilities and tasks other than those stated in this position description. -Completes required paperwork representing client intake for the day; inputs data into the computer in order to maintain computer records and generate client list. -Ensures the implementation of teaching of social skills, treatment plan and individualized service plans; ensures residents are adhering to their plans. -Assist with all verbal and physical aggressions that might occur from residents. -Assist in referrals for admission to the program.-Maintains necessary contacts with other agencies, as needed, to assure coordination of services to residents.-Ensures the training and assistance in developing and maintaining basic living skills.-Attends meetings as requested by the Program Director.-Document information and assist in tracking data with logs and reports.-Facilitate the communication of Clients needs to case manager.-Assess and respond to resident crisis or conflicts. Independently asses the need for external assistance, such as contacting emergency services. -Manage conflicts as they occur, document conflicts, and monitor resident incidents.-Assist with administrative task as needed.-Ensures that all rooms are in proper order before arrival of residents.-Distributes towels, linens, and personal hygiene items.-Secures and distributes Clients medications as required.-Monitors the activities of the residents ensuring safety and compliance with house rules; checks the security of all windows and doors; monitors cameras and makes periodic rounds of entire facility; records any unique situations occurring on assigned shift.-Responds to emergencies in a calm manner and initiates appropriate corrective actions in accordance with established policies and procedures.-Assigns housekeeping and other tasks to residents; ensures that clients perform assigned house duties in the proper manner; ensures compliance with house rules.-Answers telephone and responds to questions appropriately.-Assist residents with their bedtime and morning time routines depending on your shift.-Provides awake on-site, on-call support for residents-Lead support groups.-Moderate/coordinate and facilitate weekly residents meeting/dinner to resolve issues and plan schedules.-Assists in preparing and serving meals to residents. Working Conditions -Must be able to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis. Must be able to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. Minimum Qualifications -High school diploma or G.E.D. and one-year experience performing security or social service work preferred.-Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.-Requires a valid drivers license.-Deep commitment to the healing and well-being of human trafficking survivors. Skills, Knowledge & Abilities -Driving Test and clean MVR check (if applicable). -A criminal background check is required with certification for Protect the Mission policies and procedures.-Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.-Successful experience working in the social work field including client assessment, case planning, management and referrals.-Knowledge of trauma informed, culturally and linguistically-appropriate service provision strategies.-Knowledge of the principles and practices of client assessment, case planning, management and referrals.-Knowledge of the principles and practices of crisis intervention counseling.-Administrative skills in computers, record keeping, and organization.-Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal and communication skills, including public speaking.-Ability to recognize and maintain the confidentiality of the position.-Ability to make verbal presentations.-Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work in order to accomplish work in compliance with quality standards and deadlines.
