We are seeking highly qualified Locum Nurse Practitioners in California to provide vital general medicine services through Veterans Evaluation Services (VES). This opportunity offers flexible scheduling, competitive pay, and the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who have served our nation. In this role, you will conduct Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments, primarily interview-based with some physical assessments. You will work in various settings, including VA facilities and your own office, across multiple locations in California, contributing to veteran care on a flexible, PRN basis. Required Skills: Valid Nurse Practitioner license in California Experience in general medicine, internal medicine, family medicine, or related fields Familiarity with assessment procedures such as range of motion and muscle strength testing Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently with good organizational skills Background in veteran healthcare or familiarity with compensation and pension evaluations is preferred Nice to Have Skills: Prior experience with VA or government healthcare assessments Certification in medical assessment or pain management Bilingual abilities to serve diverse veteran populations Preferred Education and Experience: Master’s degree or higher in Nursing Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner Previous experience with compensation and pension exams or similar evaluations is advantageous Other Requirements: Own a designated office space (for providers conducting exams from their own location) Must reside within specified radius of the assigned locations Willingness to complete onboarding and training; quick credentialing process No travel outside the specified geographic areas; travel costs included in rate Availability for half-day (4 hours) or full-day (8 hours) shifts, ongoing on a PRN basis No prescribing or treatment involved; focus on interview and physical assessment Compensation & Benefits: Hourly pay rate at $402.00 Flat rate of $800 for half-day (4-hour) shifts Flat rate of $1,600 for full-day (8-hour) shifts One-time bonus of $650 upon completing initial training and exams Weekly pay with direct deposit Comprehensive medical benefits (W-2) Competitive pay packages, paid sick time, travel reimbursement, licensure and certification support, and other reimbursements when applicable Robust referral bonus program Dedicated support team committed to your success 24/7 Seize this exceptional opportunity to serve veterans while enjoying flexible scheduling and excellent pay.
