OverviewThis position is responsible for developing, delivering, and administering a designated program at an assigned branch. The Program Director oversees recruiting, hiring, supervising, and developing the team, as well as engaging and recruiting volunteers for the program.Schedule

  • Develop, implement, and manage assigned departments/programs, ensuring growth, safety, and innovation.
  • Oversee marketing, registration, communication, and operations of facilities.
  • Conduct regular site visits for observation and evaluation.
  • Manage department budgets and meet year-end outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing, policies, and health department requirements.
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate staff; support staff development.
  • Foster a motivating, collaborative environment.
  • Conduct bi-annual staff performance evaluations.
  • Represent the branch in community groups and coalitions.
  • Perform physical activities required for emergency response and daily operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
    • Minimum of 2 years' experience in program/department management.
    • YMCA experience preferred.
    • At least 1 year supervisory experience with teams of two or more.
    • Experience in program development and operations.
    • Knowledge of administrative and safety standards.
    • Must be fingerprinted and comply with licensing and legal requirements.
    • CPR/AED and First Aid Certification (Adult and Child/Infant) from recognized organizations, obtained within 30 days of hire.Qualified applicants with criminal histories will be considered in accordance with the San Diego County Fair Chance Ordinance and California Fair Chance Act. Background checks are conducted after a conditional offer.
