Our pay ranges are built to allow for candidates with various levels of skill and experience to be considered, as well as for room for growth and tenure achieved in a role over time. Typical new hire salary offers fall within the minimum to midpoint of a pay range for many candidates. Any offer extended to a candidate will be based upon their unique set of knowledge, skills, education, and experience as well as internal equity. What You'll Be Doing The Vice President of Mortgage Operations is responsible for driving the strategic direction of the all mortgage fulfillment activities, including the oversight of loan processing, underwriting and funding. Requires a strong emphasis on providing world-class Member experiences, driving efficiencies, streamlining operations and implementing process automation.

  • Lead the optimization of the mortgage operations team.
  • Own the design and iteration of standard operating procedures, policies and service level agreements across all key operational functions, including processing, underwriting and closing, ensuring highly efficient and highly accurate output, while providing a world-class Member experience.
  • Oversees the development of processes and technologies elevating the team's skills and awareness of contemporary issues related to loan fulfillment and risk management.
  • Coordinates the optimization of the Loan Origination System, automating and streamlining workflows.
  • Oversees and coordinates our exception loan policy and process, meeting the needs of our Members, while ensuring alignment with our loan portfolio objectives.
  • Advise senior management on key financial and operational trends, providing recommendations on how to improve performance.
  • Evaluate and manage essential third-party relationships, driving value to both our Members and the organization.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate analytical tools and reporting, identifying trends for improvement in the areas of Member Experience, efficiency and productivity.
  • Oversees the development, ongoing enhancements and monitoring of the Operations Variable Compensation Plan. Additional Job Functions
    • Develop and coach managers and team by establishing annual performance goals, allocating resources, setting priorities and progressing teammembers' technical skills and knowledge.
    • Handles the most sensitive Member issues to ensure a positive Member experience and outcome.
    • Contributes to organizational strategies and priorities as a member of Leadership team. Establishes and implements strategies that have mid to long-term (3-5 years) impact on business results in alignment with organization objectives.
    • Appropriately identifies, evaluates, and manages risk within area and implements risk mitigation strategies and activities as appropriate.
    • Supports credit union in overall financial objectives and Member Service goals.
    • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with third-party vendors and sub-servicer to ensure highest level of service is provided to Members.
    • Provides insights and recommendations as to the strength of the Credit Union's brand and ways of enhancing them.
    • Guides the department's development by soliciting feedback from its internal customers and making needed improvements.
    • Takes initiative to bring forward and implement ideas that help the credit union grow successfully.
    • Performs other duties as assigned
    • Complies with regulatory compliance and assigned training requirements including but not limited to BSA regulations corresponding to their specific job duties. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary and other employment related actions People Management Leadership Qualifications
      • Required Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience
      • 7-10 years previous experience Required
      • 3-5 years of experience in management position Required
      • Register with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry as a mortgage loan originator in accordance with the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act (the "SAFE Act") when applicable. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
        • Well-organized, efficient, detail-oriented self starter, able to work independently.
        • Excellent analytical ability, and the ability to conduct thorough research, interpret and understand laws and regulations, and provide workable recommendations and solutions to problems.
        • Broad knowledge of, and practical experience with, credit union or other financial institution operating areas, functions, products and services and the laws and regulations which apply to credit unions.
        • Ability to simultaneously handle multiple tasks and changing priorities in an efficient and effective manner.
        • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
        • The ability to work with all levels of management and credit union staff, as well as Members. Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Travel Requirements
          • On-Site Only Possible Work Location Tustin Campus, Riverside Operations Center Position Weekly Hours 40 This Position Schedule 8:00am - 5:00pm
            Off cycle and non-standard business hours as needed
