You will work across ABB E-mobility's teams to educate and advise them on specifics of relevant standards, codes, and protocols and new developments. Provide regular updates to teams, conduct internal trainings, and communicate with them daily. You will work collaboratively across teams including product management, interoperability, software, global standards team, research & development, business and market development, and more.

Vice President, External Affairs

Your responsibilities

• Research, Analysis, and Monitoring Industry Codes, Standards, and Protocols: Subject matter expert in United States EV charging related codes, standards, and protocols. This includes standards like: Combined Charging System 1 (CCS1), megawatt charging standard (MCS), and AC level two standards (J1772); network protocols like Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP); payment standards, J3105 for automated connection devices; ISO 15118; vehicle to grid/x (V2G/X); NIST Handbook 44 and NTEP/CTEP; EPA EnergyStar, and newly developing industry standards including reliability standards and data reporting standards. You will stay up to date on developments in industry codes and standards, including the interplay of international and North American standards, and independently research and analyze them
• Educate & Advise Internal Teams: Educate and advise them on specifics of relevant standards, codes, and protocols and new developments. Provide regular updates to teams, conduct internal trainings, and communicate with them daily. You will work collaboratively across teams including product management, interoperability, software, global standards team, research & development, business and market development, and more
• Represent and Advocate for ABB E-mobility's interests on Industry Codes, Standards, and Protocols committees and organizations
• Represent ABB E-mobility at US based industry codes, standards, and protocol committees, organizations and groups, including, but not limited to: CharIN, Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), Open Charge Alliance (OCA), National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA). Will work with your industry counterparts to grow the general markets for EV charging and ABB's EV charging products and solutions through smart and efficient codes, standards, and protocols
  
  Your background
  
  
  • 7-10 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of code, standards, and protocol development in the vehicle, EV charging, energy, electricity, or utility industries
  • Bachelor's degree is required; advanced degree preferred
  • Engineering, math, science, or technical education a plus
  • Excellent, proven verbal and written communication required
  • Excellent, proven presentation and advocacy experience required
  • Excellent, proven ability to build relationships with stakeholders required
  • Ability to travel up to 40% of the time as needed
  • Self-starter with entrepreneurial approach
  • Must be able to work independently and collaboratively
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
