What You'll Be Doing

Responsible for planning, directing and overseeing the overall management of the operational processes of the IRA Services department. Assist the Vice President in developing and administering the organization's IRA portfolio and the team; assists in product development and enhancements of the organization's IRA products. Ensures the delivery of superior Member service and products to Members and SchoolsFirst FCU team members.

  • Responsible for overseeing the organization's IRA shares/portfolio and maintains working relationship with third party vendors to ensure the organization is compliant with all rules and regulations.
  • Oversee the technical guidance and training of branch/departments on IRA products; monitors regulatory and policy changes and takes appropriate action to ensure compliance with outside regulators. Oversee and make recommendations as to any changes, updates in regulations, forms, methods and systems and direct the implementation.
  • Replies to Members via written correspondence; responds to Member comments or suggestions; Assists Members in person and over the phone as needed. Oversees the compliance of credit union IRA accounts; researches fees, tax statement problems and corrects appropriate forms (e.g., 1099R, 5498); oversees the research of mandatory distributions on new and existing plans inclusive of setting up, accuracy, analysis, maintenance and compliance; handles the complex and non-routine inquiries by the branches/departments and Members.
  • Oversee the workflow and delegating assignments according to volume and individual capacity. Works with the vice president to establish department and individual performance goals. Ensures all functions are completed and resources are allocated properly to meet the quality and productivity standards of the department.
  • Maintains thorough knowledge of retirement products including but not limited to all IRA accounts, regulations and compliance.
  • All team members must comply with regulatory compliance and assigned training requirements including but not limited to BSA regulations corresponding to their specific job duties. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary and other employment related actions.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

    Additional Job Functions

    • Provides daily support to staff, including answering questions and problem resolution, communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; training, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; developing, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards.
    • Accomplishes financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures and analyzing variances.
    • Contributes to organizational goals and priorities as a member of Management team. Establishes and implements plans that have short-term (1-2 year) impact on business results in alignment with organization objectives.
    • Evaluates operating procedures and policies, ensuring the highest levels of Member service, productivity and internal control.
    • Initiates, researches, coordinates and implements department or division projects intended to benefit Members, internal teammembers or department operations.
    • Ensures compliance with state and federal laws as well as any other applicable regulations.
    • Understands the credit union organizational goals and key performance indicators and takes the necessary actions to achieve desired results.
    • Performs other duties as assigned

      • Required High School Diploma or GED
      • Preferred Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience
      • 5-7 years of previous related experience Required
      • 1-3 years previous management experience Required

        Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

        • In depth knowledge of retirement products, such as IRA's, Coverdell, Deferred compensation accounts
