Our client, a leading e-tailer who--offers a catalog that's developed in-house with home furniture, toys, outdoor and seasonal products, all at value prices, is seeking an Inventory Purchase Order Manager. You will oversee the daily activities of the purchasing function related to inventory purchased for resale in coordination with multiple departments including Demand Planning, Vendor Management, and Transportation. This is initially an individual contributor role with the potential to build up a team of 3. Combination of remote work + going onsite as needed. The successful Inventory PO Manager will have a strong understanding of the procurement process and be able to handle vast amounts of data on a daily basis.--They will continually look for ways to streamline processes and use the ERP and other technology solutions to their full potential.In this key role you will be responsible for:-- Oversee the entire inventory PO process from creation, approval, submission to the vendor, order updates, order completion and booking, warehouse receipt, and payment-- Prepare inventory POs that have been proposed by the Demand Planning Process, obtain internal final approvals, and submit to vendors for acknowledgement and acceptance.-- Obtain regular updates and confirmations from vendors concerning the production and shipment schedules and determine if significant changes are acceptable-- Continually ensures that all open inventory POs are updated with the latest information and closed out if not approved or the terms cannot be met-- Ensure all stakeholders in the Demand Planning Process receive timely and accurate reporting of the current order statuses and provide change reports as needed. -- Coordinates with Vendor Management to provide vendors proposed ordering/production schedules to verify production capacity-- Provide regular reporting to Vendor Management concerning vendor performance issues and/or communication issues-- Oversees the transfer of POs to Transportation for the vessel booking and receiving the order on the water-- Ensure inventory purchasing policies and contractual arrangements are followed with each order including price, Incoterm, payment terms, and schedule adherence.-- Resolve order exception issues with vendors such as price changes, extra fees, open deposit balances, etc. Required Qualifications:-- BS/BA degree in relevant area such as Business Administration, Supply Chain, or Finance-- 3-5 years of relevant experience demonstrating success in positions of increasing complexity-- 2+ years of management/leadership experience-- Experience with an ERP or a digital purchase order system-- Strong project management skills, including stakeholder timelines and meeting management skills-- Expert understanding of contract terms and techniques for driving additional value and managing risks-- Reliable, with high integrity and strong work ethic-- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)-- Ability to persuade or influence people to take appropriate action-- Be open to new ideas and continuous improvementAbility to resolve problems using initiative and innovationIf you are looking to continue your career in Purchase Order Management -please message me today!Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled.
