Your MissionVirgin Galactic is seeking a Project Engineer to develop and manage technical scope, schedule and budgets of tasks assigned by the Chief Engineer. In addition, this position leads the cross functional team required to complete their assigned scope. The PE will coordinate with key stakeholders to complete engineering activities in accordance with project requirements.

  • Responsible to the Chief Engineer for the assigned scope of design, development, build, test and qualification of the vehicle Avionics/Electrical systems
  • Responsible to the Chief Engineer and Project Manager for meeting program cost and schedule requirements and managing Avionics/Electrical program scope
  • Leads the cross-functional team to complete scope within the project, and coordinates with other stakeholders in the project team
  • Support development of Engineering project plans to meet program requirements, including Systems Engineering Management Plans, Test Management Plans, Validation and Verification Plans and other engineering development plans
  • Supports the development and validation of the vehicle/product technical requirements in support of overall project requirements
  • Cooperate and communicate status effectively to the Chief Engineer, other project participants and leadership
  • Provide technical support to the Chief Engineer and other project participants
    What you bring
    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, with a concentration in Aeronautical, Astronautical, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering
    • 5+ years of experience with a background in aircraft or spacecraft electrical systems.
    • Ability to read electrical schematics and understanding of general aircraft or spacecraft systems
    • Ability to manage cross functional teams to achieve program technical, cost and schedule constraints
    • Understanding of software development and verification is a plus
    • Excellent organizational skills and problem solving skills
    • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio and Catia V/Solidworks
