We are designing a completely new electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft tailored to the mobility needs of future cities. We believe in creative thinking and collaboration to help build a better mobility experience for everyone, improving people's ability to move - whether for work or play.What we do: The Automation Engineer will work cross-functionally with all other departments to understand and improve manufacturing, assembly, and logistic processes. You'll be tasked with first understanding the requirements and using the newest technology to improve how parts are made and assembled. With Industry 4.0 in mind, you will play a major role in driving our production to be innovative.What you can do:

  • Work with internal customers and team members to develop requirements for automated equipment
  • Coordinate with manufacturing engineers to develop processes and integrate automation
  • Apply creativity and innovation to improve current methods of manufacturing
  • Assist with manufacturing build plans and implementation of automation to improve efficiency
  • Develop and implement automated assembly and inspection techniques
  • Create and maintain documentation identifying equipment requirements, data collection needs, and operation instructionsWhat you can contribute:
    • BS in Engineering or related field (Automation, Electrical, Mechanical, Technology)
    • 3+ years of experience in automation development and deploying automation in manufacturing environments (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)
    • Understanding and/or experience with Lean manufacturing principles
    • Ability to program an industry leading robot (Fanuc, ABB, Motoman, UR, Kuka, etc.)
    • Proficiency with robot and/or general programming languages (C++, Python, RAPID, Karel, etc.)
    • Experience integrating in a networked or Industry 4.0 environment
    • Flexible and open to learning new skills
    • Industrial vision systems (Basler, Cognex, Keyence, etc.)
    • Solid understanding of PLCs
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Proactive delivery of communication and follow upYou may also be able to contribute:
      • Experience using manufacturing or robotic simulation environments
      • Experience managing time-critical projects
      • Able to develop or program HMIs
      • Background in automotive or aerospace production
      • Basic CAD modeling experience
